Dr Anthony Kong is an experienced educator and professional with profound knowledge and expertise in a transdisciplinary area of design, technology, and hospitality.
Appointed as Associate Director of Media Lab, Programme Leader of Higher Diploma in Creative Media, Programme Leader of Higher Diploma in Animation and Visual Effects, Senior Lecturer in Digital Media at Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and Course Director of Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Media at Coventry University in Hong Kong. Prior to joining HKDI, he was the Programme Leader of Higher Diploma in Design (Interactive Media) at Caritas Bianchi College of Career (CBCC) cum Senior Lecturer of Bachelor of Science (Hons) Digital Entertainment at Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) and Lecturer at Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE). He also worked as Visiting Lecturer/Project Supervisor at Community College of City University (CCCU), Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), Buckinghamshire New University and Coventry University in Hong Kong.
Dr Kong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computing (Department of Computing, University of Portsmouth), a Master’s degree in Multimedia and Entertainment Technology (School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), and a Doctoral degree in Hotel and Tourism Management (School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University). His professional design, technology and hospitality qualifications/memberships include: Full Member of Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association, Life Full Member of Hong Kong Designers Association (MHKDA), Full Member of Hong Kong Computer Society (MHKCS), Full Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE), Professional Member of Association for Computing Machinery (MACM), Full Member of Institute of Hospitality (MIH) and Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) at American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).
Dr Kong received design and technology awards include: HKDA Global Design Award, Hong Kong ICT Award, and IEEE International Conference Best Paper Award. His works have been featured in HK-SZ Design Biennale, World Expo Shanghai, and Hong Kong International Film Festival. His research interests lie in the transdisciplinary area of Educational Technology, Inclusive Design, Service Design and Smart Design. He has obtained millions of Hong Kong dollars external funding for consultancy projects and more than 20 publications in various international journals, conference proceedings plus book chapters.
