Charles Ng, holds a Master of Arts in Design from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is the Founding Chairman of Hong Kong Brands Association (2012); Honorary Advisor of Hong Kong Designers Association (06-10), Chairman of HKDA (04-06) and Vice-chairman of Board of Directors of Hong Kong Design Centre; Fellow Member of The Chartered Society of Designers, London. Ng is an Advisor of Design & Interactive Media Programme, Hong Kong College of Technology; Advisor of Brand Design Programme of IVE (Kwun Tong); Advisor of Arts in Digital Visual Design in City U University and Advisor of Humanities Programme of Hong Kong Baptist University. Ng was awarded as the Top Ten Designers in Hong Kong in 2008. He was invited to the Exhibition of “Seven Famous Hong Kong Designers in Macau” at Instituto Politecnico de Macau in 1999. He was also the curator of “Provocative Design in Hong Kong” in 2000, organized by Goethe Institute, Hong Kong.
Ng is one of the Registers of Subject Specialists of the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation. He has been a visiting lecturer at various design institutions including The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, IVE (Shatin), Hong Kong Productivity Council. He is very often invited as judge for different kind of local and overseas design competitions and external examiner by various Hong Kong design institutions.
Ng has won over 100 design awards locally and overseas, inclusive of 1 Excellent Prize of the Incheon International Design Open Contest Korea (04), the Best Creativity in Chinese Typography of IdN Design Award (97); 7 Champion Awards of Hong Kong Print Award (97, 04, 05), 2 Gold Award of Asian Print Award, Singapore (05,04); 2 Silver, 1 Bronze, 4 Excellent, 4 Merits of the International Commercial Art Design Competition of China (04); 8 Excellent Awards for the First Chinese Design Competition (97); 1 Silver 20 Excellent Awards for HKDA Show (96-02) etc.
Some of Ng’s works are permanent collection by Ogaki Poster Museum, Japan and Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
Ng is also the Founder, Creative Director, Chief Brand Consultant of Maxi Communications Ltd. MCL established in Hong Kong in late 94, is a creative brand consultant company and a group of talents who are skillful in brand auditing, brand analysis, brand strategy, brand design, brand communications, brand management and brand promotion, as well as brand integration with unique visual approach and brand sense. Ng is devoted and dedicated to brand design and is one of the most visionary and missionary leaders in brand and design industry.
