Dr Anthony Kong is an Assistant Professor in Digital Media in the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is an academician and professional with profound knowledge and expertise in an interdisciplinary area of design, technology, and hospitality.
Dr Kong holds a bachelor’s degree in computing at University of Portsmouth, a master’s degree in design and a doctoral degree in hotel and tourism management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His professional affiliations include Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Life Professional Member of Hong Kong Designers Association, Full Member of Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association, Full Member of Hong Kong Computer Society, Professional Member of Association for Computing Machinery, Full Member of Institute of Hospitality and Certified Hospitality Educator at American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. He is currently serving as an executive committee member for both Hong Kong Designers Association and IEEE Hong Kong Section Computer Society Chapter.
Prior joining School of Design, he was appointed as Associate Director, Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer at Hong Kong Design Institute, Course Director at Coventry University in Hong Kong, Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer at Caritas Institute of Higher Education and Caritas Bianchi College of Career. He has also taught at Open University of Hong Kong, Community College of City University and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.
Dr Kong received design and technology awards include HKDA Global Design Award, Hong Kong ICT Award, and IEEE International Conference Best Paper Award. His works have been featured in HK-SZ Design Biennale, World Expo Shanghai, and Hong Kong International Film Festival. His research interests lie in the interdisciplinary area of Digital Media, Educational Technology, Service Design and Smart Design.
