Mui Kinoshita is an esteemed designer and entrepreneur based in Hong Kong, renowned for her significant contributions to the design industry. With a diverse background spanning Hong Kong, the UK, Finland, Italy and Japan, she brings a unique perspective to her work in industrial and strategic design. As the founder of Venture Design, ASA Innovation & Technology, and Venture Design and CycleCore Ltd., Mui has garnered a reputation for her innovative approaches and exceptional creativity.

 

Professional Achievements:

- Recipient of prestigious awards including the iF Design Award (Gold), Red Dot Design Award, Global Design Award (Gold) and YDTA Best Young Designer of the Year etc.

- Winner of notable accolades such as the global winner of Alibaba Jumpstarter Global Best Startup, Peninsula Hotel Kaleidoscope Lab Global Winner, HSBC Innovation Awards, China Mobile Entrepreneurship Award etc. 

 

Leadership Roles & Industry Contributions:

- Chairman of the Hong Kong Designers Association, where she drives the promotion and advancement of design in Hong Kong.

- Director of the Hong Kong Design Centre, fostering connections between designers and global markets.

- Advisor of the Doctor of Design program at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, contributing to the cultivation of design talents globally.

- Respected judge in international design competitions like the Dyson Design Award and VMark Design Award.

 

Vision and Initiatives:

Mui envisions Hong Kong as a leading Asia design hub, bridging designers with both international and China markets. During her tenure as the first Chairlady of the Hong Kong Designers Association, she revolutionized the organization by introducing initiatives like DesignMatch, a one-to-one design x business platform, and the Hong Kong Design Summit. Her efforts also include pioneering the first BDA brand award in Asia led by design, encouraging brands to prioritize design for enhanced value across industries.
