HON BING WAH

Hon Bing-Wah, over the years, he has been engaged in the creation of design, painting, sculpture and public art.
He was a judge for Regional Flag and Emblem of the Hong Kong SAR and involved in the development of its design.
He participated in the design of Shanghai’s bidding for World Expo 2010 and acted as an advisor. Hon’s won many honour and Award including the Artist of the year Award from the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild in 1992.

In 2003,he was selected as one of the 100 most significant graphic designers by Phaidon. In 2004,he was received the honour of Master Design House of Shanghai presented by Shanghai Municipal Commission. In 2012,he was rewarded as Person of the Year award in Shanghai city of Design.2016, he received the bronze Bauhinia star by The Hong Kong government.

His solo Exhibition on Art and Design include:In 1991 the “Grand Vision”—Chinese Ink by Hon Bingwah held in Hong Kong Arts Centre;1997“Back to Nature”—Chinese Ink and Sculptures by Hon Bingwah held by Hong Kong Chinese Culture Promotion Organization;2011“Heavenly Dragon Lead the Way”—Art Works by Hon Bingwah at Beijing Gehua Cultural Centre;2014 Art and Design Exhibition at Shanghai International Fashion Centre.2015“Reflecton”—Hon Bingwah Art Exhibition at Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre.2019 Exhibiton of “The Chinese zodiac” in China Cultural Center, Brussels. 

Hon is the Former Chairman of Hong Kong Designers Association and Vice President of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations(ICOGRADA). He now is Honorary Adviser of the Leisure and Culture Service Department of Hong Kong.
